Projects General

Project Phase Overview

The project phase is designed to help you integrate all the knowledge you've gained so far. Beyond improving your technical skills, this phase is a critical opportunity to develop essential professional competencies, including:

  • Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with others.
  • Workflow Adaptation: Adjusting to new processes and tools.
  • Communication: Clearly articulating ideas and project status.
  • Planning and Prioritization: Managing tasks and deadlines.
  • Peer Support and Feedback Management: Giving and receiving constructive criticism.

Project Presentations

Project presentations are mandatory. If you are unable to present, you must notify your coach as soon as possible and provide the necessary documentation to reschedule.

Project Attendance

Your active participation is required throughout the project period.

  • Online cohorts: You must be connected to the designated Google Meet during the entire day and be present for all check-ins and check-outs.
  • Onsite cohorts: Onsite attendance is mandatory.

Important Note

Successfully completing all projects is a prerequisite for moving on to the Capstone Project. If a project is not completed successfully, your coach will reach out to you privately to discuss next steps.

Tips for Success

Project Tips

  • Code Quality over Quantity: Good code is always better than many features. Focus on writing clean, well-structured code.
  • Keep It Simple: Avoid unnecessary technologies or complexities. Use the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) principle.

Workflow Tips

  • Kill Your Darlings: Be prepared to abandon beloved ideas if they don't serve the project's core purpose.
  • Personal Responsibility: Proactively ask for feedback and help when you need it.
  • Collaboration: Support each other and monitor the Discord channels for updates and discussions.
  • Make Reviews: Code reviews are a great way to promote learning and improve your code.
  • Manage Expectations: Be realistic about what you can accomplish and review your expectations regularly.
  • "Dog Days" are Okay: It's normal to have unproductive days. Don't get discouraged; just get back on track the next day.
